A cyber-security placement where your work protects real schools

For college and sixth-form students on digital courses, including T Levels.

At school and looking for a week or two of work experience? That’s a different route. Work experience →

If you’re studying a digital course, you can do your placement with us. You’ll join a small team, take on a real role, and help schools in your college’s area become more secure, often the school you came from. It’s the same programme school pupils do for work experience, run over a full placement.

Questions students ask

Do I need cyber-security experience?

No. You need an interest, and to be on a relevant course. We train you in the tools.

Where will I work?

Mostly online, with face-to-face sessions agreed with your college.

How many hours?

T Level placements are at least 315 hours. Your college agrees the weekly pattern with us and the agreed number of hours.

Is it paid?

No, it’s part of the placement agreement with your college.

What do I get?

A supervisor’s appraisal, a logbook of evidence, and examples of real work for your CV with certificate of completion.

How to apply

  1. Talk to your placement officer or tutor first. Your college approves every placement.
  2. Register your interest, telling us your college, course and preferred role.
  3. We’ll invite you to apply and to a short interview, just like a real job.
  4. Once your college and we agree the details, you start with an induction.

For parents and carers

Every student has a named supervisor. Online sessions take place on [platform]. We hold students’ details only for running the placement.
