Why placements with us
Cyber-security placements are hard to find. Much of the work is confidential or needs clearance a student cannot hold. Our work is different: we help schools put the NCSC’s free security tools into practice, and students do a real share of that work in supervised teams.
What we offer
- Placement hours for T Level students agreed prior to placement [the full 315 hours, or part of them]
- Four defined roles, each with its own tasks, skills and evidence
- A named supervisor, regular feedback and an end-of-placement appraisal
- An application and interview first, as for a real job
- A starting cohort of [five or six] students
How it fits your course
Placements suit the Digital Support and Security T Level. Each role gives students technical and employability tasks, so learning goals can be agreed between you, us and the student.

How a placement runs
Most of our work is done online, as it is across much of the digital sector. Every placement starts with an induction, and we agree the balance of on-site and remote time with you before it begins.
We agree the weekly pattern with you: day release, block weeks, or a mix. Students keep a logbook and timesheet, which their supervisor checks, and we take part in the review meetings you arrange.
What we need from you
A named placement contact; students prepared for the workplace; learning goals agreed with us and the student; review meetings; and the completion decision, which is yours.
What students do not do
Students do not see personal data belonging to any school, administer any school’s or college’s systems, test live systems, or respond to live incidents. They never work unsupervised with pupils.
Documents for your due diligence
Our placement pack includes role profiles, a sample placement plan, our safeguarding policy and named lead, risk assessment and how we handle students’ data.
