Canvas is used globally throughout the world with over 30 million active users at 8,000 colleges. The hacking group ShinyHunters exploited a free teachers account lacking 2FA to breach the systems infrastructure gaining access to over 275 million individuals private data such as names, email addresses, student ids and private messages.
